How A Young Couple Found Hope For Fibroid Surgery
She needed surgery they couldn't afford. He had been searching for months for a way to save his wife. At our outreach, they paid only one-third of the cost — and walked out with their hope restored.
The Diagnosis They Couldn't Afford To Treat
For months, she lived with pain she tried to ignore. A dull ache that grew sharper. Discomfort that made daily life difficult.
When she finally went for a scan, the result was clear: uterine fibroid. It required surgery.
For her husband, that diagnosis was the beginning of another kind of pain — the helplessness of knowing what your wife needs, and not having the means to provide it.
"We have known about this issue for a long time," he said quietly. "But surgery costs a lot of money. I have been looking for a way, going from place to place."
In many homes, this is where the story pauses. The diagnosis is known, but treatment is out of reach.
Hearing About Hope
Then they heard an announcement.
Queen Saratu Nasiha Foundation (QSNF) was holding a medical outreach in their community.
It was not just talk. It was screening, registration, and a promise of follow-up care. They decided to go.
At the outreach site, they were attended to, registered, and captured into our Weekly Medical Program. From there, they were referred to our partner facility for proper evaluation.
The recommendation was still surgery — but this time, the conversation was different.
One-Third That Changed Everything
Through QSNF's subsidized surgical support model, the couple was asked to pay only one-third of the total cost of the surgery. QSNF, through its donors and partners, covered the rest.
For a family that had been told the full price was impossible, one-third was possible. It was dignified. It was within reach.
They made the payment. They were scheduled.
And the surgery was done — successfully.
Today, They Are Grateful
When this photo was taken at our facility, the pain was gone. What remained was relief, and gratitude.
She stood a little stronger. He stood beside her.
They wanted to thank QSNF and everyone who supports this initiative — every donor, volunteer, and medical partner who makes it possible for a family to pay what they can, and still get the care they need.
At QSNF, we believe no woman should live with a treatable condition because she cannot afford surgery. Serving humanity through compassion and hope is not just our tagline — it is what we do, one family at a time.
In Her Husband's Words:
"We are very grateful and thankful to the foundation and all the people that supported. We came with a problem, and we are going back with a testimony."
